Authenticity has been defined as something that is honest, genuine or original. Yet, we argue that perceptions of authenticity are shaped by social and cultural values, making this traditional definition too limiting. Through our exhibition we therefore aim to expand the meaning of authenticity, to move beyond the dichotomous labels of real versus fake. So as you experience the exhibit, we invite you to ask yourself: What IS real?

March 9th, 2010: Announcements

Today we needed to distinguish what would be going on the blog as compared to the log book. We will be posting our documentation team progress as well as any other important events that occur along the way.
We announced the Twitter, Facebook and Blog to the class, as well as wrote the web addresses on the whiteboard.
Our team created photo release form and got the class to sign them. Pretty much everyone agreed that they didn't care if their picture was online, but they did not want their name involved. So no tagging will be done on Facebook. The class also signed a release form from the department.
